I've heard it every year for twenty years: Dubai in July gets a bad reputation. Too hot. Too quiet. Everyone's left. And every year, I stay because I know something the tourists don't. Summer in Dubai, if you know where to look, is actually brilliant. And this year there's more reason than ever to stay put.
A Dubai Invite—reward your guests for visiting
If you haven't heard of it yet, this is worth registering for today. Dubai residents can nominate visiting family or friends flying in between 20 July and 31 October 2026 and claim a rewards package worth over AED 3,000—hotel stays, dining, and attraction perks, heavily discounted. Each resident can claim up to three packages, nominating up to five visitors per package. The catch: you must register your guests before they land, not after. Nominations go through Visit Dubai's official form, and residents have until 30 September 2026 to register. Rewards start being issued from August 2026 and become available within 72 hours of your guests' arrival.

60 days of shopping, dining, entertainment, and family experiences across the city, with up to 90% off across hundreds of brands. Whatever brings your guests to Dubai this summer, they're landing in the middle of it.
The Great Dubai Summer Sale
Running within DSS from 2 July to 2 August 2026, the Great Dubai Summer Sale offers discounts of up to 90% across hundreds of brands and more than 1,000 participating outlets citywide—worth timing any bigger purchases around if your guests, or you, are shopping this summer.
The 10 Dirham Dish From 3 to 30 August 2026:
Participating restaurants across Dubai each nominate one signature dish and sell it for a flat AED 10. No booking, no voucher, no app — you simply walk in and ask for the AED 10 dish. It's a proper restaurant meal for next to nothing, and a genuinely fun way to show guests around the city's food scene without the bill adding up.
Back-to-school, sorted
For those of us raising children here, the Back-to-School campaign runs 3 to 30 August 2026, with discounts on supplies, clothing and electronics alongside family entertainment—including a dedicated Back-to-School Carnival on 7 and 8 August.
